On the surface worktops

Construction and finish
On-the-Surface worktops are produced from pre-formed panels of short strips of solid hardwood (carefully selected for their character, colour and grain) that are glued together using state-of-the-art, high frequency heating (a combination of pressure and molecular heating), drying and jointing techniques. They are available in a choice of real wood species and each worktop is pre-sanded ready for on-site installation.

Environmentally Friendly
Managed properly, hardwood is a renewable raw material. We endeavour to ensure that the woods used to make our worktops are only purchased from regions where forest resources are managed in a well considered manner.
Our worktops are manufactured by TRAP PANEL whose production flow has been certified to allow manufacture of edge glued panels with an FSC label in an increasing number of wood species. This is important because it provides end users with a guarantee as to the origin of the wood used.

Installation, maintenance and aftercare
A guide to installation and maintenance is included with each worktop.
Maintenance is straightforward. Following installation apply a suitable oil* to the surface in order to maintain its water resistance and enhance its inherent, natural beauty.
Re-oil the worktop's surface and edges at three month intervals.
Always use a chopping board for food preparation and use pan stands/trivets - aviod cutting directly on the surface and ensure hot pans etc do not sit directly on the worktop.
Wet spills should be wiped immediately - use a lightly dampened cloth with a drop of washing up liquid.

* We recommened Trip Trap Worktop Oil, which is available in two colours: Natural (mainly for the exotic hardwoods) and white (for the light coloured species)
