Traditional

We can supply a wide range of classically elegant, traditional European Oak and American White Oak staircases, all of which are hand made to your design requirements so they perfectly complement your project. We mill all the sections specially and can accommodate a range of traditional styles, from the very fashionable but simple, with square balusters and newels, to the grand turnings of a 16th or 17th century staircase.

We can produce beautiful solid timber staircases, with Oak treads and risers, or incorporate MDF treads and risers if the staircase is to be carpeted to keep costs to a minimum; this design works really well with an Oak bullnose bottom step. If you are looking for an alternative species to Oak we can manufacture from a wide range, or even incorporate mixed species into a design; for example painted Poplar spindles look stunning in conjunction with Oak newels and handrail.

All our staircases can be supplied unfinished, or pre-finished ready for installation. We take great pride in our products and every staircase we sell is carefully inspected prior to delivery. We also have our own specialised staircase installation team if you are looking for a full ‘turnkey’ package.

Brill Sawmills can accommodate a whole range of styles and designs, incorporating the warmth and natural beauty of stunning prime grade Oak complemented and contrasted by the sleek modern appearance of a glass balustrade, giving the staircase a modern, light and spacious feel with very clean lines.

All the timber components in our staircases are milled to order and can be produced in a wide range of profiles to create the look that complements your project, whether it’s a very geometric design with beautiful clean straight lines, or, a more organic form with curves, we can produce the staircase of your dreams. To accommodate these two very different design approaches we offer a wide range of clasps, fixings, toughened glazing and a variety of staircase options including open tread and cut stings. We can even pre-finish your staircase so once it’s installed it’s ready for use.

We are experts in staircase design and manufacture and we project manage your staircase build, from your initial conception right through to the delivery of your staircase on the required day; all of this is backed up by our dedicated installation service, turning your design into a beautiful reality. Staircase installation is a very specialised process and we are the masters of it!

Every staircase we make is unique and we offer a whole range of design options and timber species to create that ultra modern and light look you are after. We have the experience and expert knowledge to transform your idea, or architect’s plan, into a stunning reality and create a beautiful centre piece to your home.

Due to the complexity of some of the ultra modern staircases, we prefer to offer the whole package, including installation. We have our own dedicated installation team and specialise in project managing the fit to ensure your staircase is exactly as you envisioned it, and that it’s all installed in a timely and precise manner
